Psalms 26:1-12
Psalms 26:1-12 New International Version (NIV)
Vindicate me, LORD, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the LORD and have not faltered. Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness. I do not sit with the deceitful, nor do I associate with hypocrites. I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked. I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, LORD, proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds. LORD, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells. Do not take away my soul along with sinners, my life with those who are bloodthirsty, in whose hands are wicked schemes, whose right hands are full of bribes. I lead a blameless life; deliver me and be merciful to me. My feet stand on level ground; in the great congregation I will praise the LORD.
Psalms 26:1-12 The Message (MSG)
Clear my name, GOD; I’ve kept an honest shop. I’ve thrown in my lot with you, GOD, and I’m not budging. Examine me, GOD, from head to foot, order your battery of tests. Make sure I’m fit inside and out So I never lose sight of your love, But keep in step with you, never missing a beat. I don’t hang out with tricksters, I don’t pal around with thugs; I hate that pack of gangsters, I don’t deal with double-dealers. I scrub my hands with purest soap, then join hands with the others in the great circle, dancing around your altar, GOD, Singing God-songs at the top of my lungs, telling God-stories. GOD, I love living with you; your house glows with your glory. When it’s time for spring cleaning, don’t sweep me out with the quacks and crooks, Men with bags of dirty tricks, women with purses stuffed with bribe-money. You know I’ve been aboveboard with you; now be aboveboard with me. I’m on the level with you, GOD; I bless you every chance I get.
Psalms 26:1-12 King James Version (KJV)
Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide. Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; Try my reins and my heart. For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: And I have walked in thy truth. I have not sat with vain persons, Neither will I go in with dissemblers. I have hated the congregation of evil doers; And will not sit with the wicked. I will wash mine hands in innocency: So will I compass thine altar, O LORD: That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, And tell of all thy wondrous works. LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, And the place where thine honour dwelleth. Gather not my soul with sinners, Nor my life with bloody men: In whose hands is mischief, And their right hand is full of bribes. But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: Redeem me, and be merciful unto me. My foot standeth in an even place: In the congregations will I bless the LORD.
Psalms 26:1-12 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, And I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Examine me, O LORD, and try me; Test my mind and my heart. For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth. I do not sit with deceitful men, Nor will I go with pretenders. I hate the assembly of evildoers, And I will not sit with the wicked. I shall wash my hands in innocence, And I will go about Your altar, O LORD, That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving And declare all Your wonders. O LORD, I love the habitation of Your house And the place where Your glory dwells. Do not take my soul away along with sinners, Nor my life with men of bloodshed, In whose hands is a wicked scheme, And whose right hand is full of bribes. But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity; Redeem me, and be gracious to me. My foot stands on a level place; In the congregations I shall bless the LORD.
Psalms 26:1-12 New Century Version (NCV)
LORD, defend me because I have lived an innocent life. I have trusted the LORD and never doubted. LORD, try me and test me; look closely into my heart and mind. I see your love, and I live by your truth. I do not spend time with liars, nor do I make friends with those who hide their sin. I hate the company of evil people, and I won’t sit with the wicked. I wash my hands to show I am innocent, and I come to your altar, LORD. I raise my voice in praise and tell of all the miracles you have done. LORD, I love the Temple where you live, where your glory is. Do not kill me with those sinners or take my life with those murderers. Evil is in their hands, and they do wrong for money. But I have lived an innocent life, so save me and have mercy on me. I stand in a safe place. LORD, I praise you in the great meeting.

Jehovah, I love the habitation of thy house, And the place where thy glory dwelleth. Gather not my soul with sinners, Nor my life with men of blood; In whose hands is wickedness, And their right hand is full of bribes. But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: Redeem me, and be merciful unto me. My foot standeth in an even place: In the congregations will I bless Jehovah.

Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity; I have [relied on and] trusted [confidently] in the LORD without wavering and I shall not slip. Examine me, O LORD, and try me; Test my heart and my mind. For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have walked [faithfully] in Your truth. I do not sit with deceitful or unethical or worthless men, Nor seek companionship with pretenders (self-righteous hypocrites). I hate the company of evildoers, And will not sit with the wicked. Psalms 26:1-12 New Living Translation (NLT)
Declare me innocent, O LORD, for I have acted with integrity; I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Put me on trial, LORD, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and my heart. For I am always aware of your unfailing love, and I have lived according to your truth. I do not spend time with liars or go along with hypocrites. I hate the gatherings of those who do evil, and I refuse to join in with the wicked. I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O LORD, singing a song of thanksgiving and telling of all your wonders. I love your sanctuary, LORD, the place where your glorious presence dwells. Don’t let me suffer the fate of sinners. Don’t condemn me along with murderers. Their hands are dirty with evil schemes, and they constantly take bribes. But I am not like that; I live with integrity. So redeem me and show me mercy. Now I stand on solid ground, and I will publicly praise the LORD.
Psalms 26:1-12 The Passion Translation (TPT)
YAHWEH, be my judge and declare me innocent! Clear my name, for I walk in integrity and trust you without wavering. YAHWEH, you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you’ll find me true. I will never lose sight of your steadfast love for me. Your faithfulness has steadied my steps. I won’t keep company with tricky, two-faced men, nor will I go the way of those with hidden motives. I despise the sinner’s hangouts. You won’t find me walking with the wicked. When I come to your altar, YAHWEH, I’ll be clean before you, approaching with songs of thanksgiving, singing songs of your mighty miracles. YAHWEH, I love to live in your house, this dwelling place of dazzling glory! Don’t treat me as one of these scheming sinners who plot violence against the innocent. Look how they devise their wicked plans; their hands are always ready to receive a bribe. I’m not like them, Lord—not at all. Save me, redeem me with your mercy, for I have chosen to walk only in what is right. Among the worshipers I will praise YAHWEH, for I am safe and secure because of you!

Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and my mind. For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness. I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites. I hate the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked. I wash my hands in innocence and go around your altar, O LORD, proclaiming thanksgiving aloud, and telling all your wondrous deeds. O LORD, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells. Do not sweep my soul away with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men, in whose hands are evil devices, and whose right hands are full of bribes. But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me. My foot stands on level ground; in the great assembly I will bless the LORD.
