Matthew 7:16
Matthew 7:15-20 The Message (MSG)
“Be wary of false preachers who smile a lot, dripping with practiced sincerity. Chances are they are out to rip you off some way or other. Don’t be impressed with charisma; look for character. Who preachers are is the main thing, not what they say. A genuine leader will never exploit your emotions or your pocketbook. These diseased trees with their bad apples are going to be chopped down and burned.
Matthew 7:16 King James Version (KJV)
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Matthew 7:16 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?
Matthew 7:16 New Century Version (NCV)
You will know these people by what they do. Grapes don’t come from thornbushes, and figs don’t come from thorny weeds.
Matthew 7:16 American Standard Version (ASV)
By their fruits ye shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Matthew 7:16 New International Version (NIV)

Matthew 7:16 New Living Translation (NLT)
You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
