John 8:17-18
John 8:14-18 The Message (MSG)
Jesus replied, “You’re right that you only have my word. But you can depend on it being true. I know where I’ve come from and where I go next. You don’t know where I’m from or where I’m headed. You decide according to what you can see and touch. I don’t make judgments like that. But even if I did, my judgment would be true because I wouldn’t make it out of the narrowness of my experience but in the largeness of the One who sent me, the Father. That fulfills the conditions set down in God’s Law: that you can count on the testimony of two witnesses. And that is what you have: You have my word and you have the word of the Father who sent me.”
John 8:17-18 King James Version (KJV)
It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
John 8:17-18 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Even in your law it has been written that the testimony of two men is true. I am He who testifies about Myself, and the Father who sent Me testifies about Me.”
John 8:17-18 New Century Version (NCV)
Your own law says that when two witnesses say the same thing, you must accept what they say. I am one of the witnesses who speaks about myself, and the Father who sent me is the other witness.”
John 8:17-18 American Standard Version (ASV)
Yea and in your law it is written, that the witness of two men is true. I am he that beareth witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
John 8:17-18 New International Version (NIV)
In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is true. I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father, who sent me.”
John 8:17-18 New King James Version (NKJV)
It is also written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. I am One who bears witness of Myself, and the Father who sent Me bears witness of Me.”
John 8:17-18 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Even in your own law it is written that the testimony of two persons is true [valid and admissible]. [Deut 19:15] I am One [of the Two] who testifies about Myself, and My Father who sent Me testifies about Me.”
John 8:17-18 New Living Translation (NLT)
Your own law says that if two people agree about something, their witness is accepted as fact. I am one witness, and my Father who sent me is the other.”
