This Bible study devotional covers 1 Samuel 16-17. This passage marks the beginning of both Saul’s fall and David’s rise to power. David is anointed and proves that God is with him by defeating Goliath; while Saul proves God has left him when he hides in his tent, tortured by evil spirits.
