The NVB is a Committee Bible translated into today’s language of Vietnam from the Hebrew & Greek texts by ten Vietnamese Theologians. The New Testament was translated from the Greek New Testament; which was edited by Kurt Aland, Matthew Black, Carlo Martini, Bruce M. Metzger and Allen Wikgren, and published by United Bible Societies. They translated the Old Testament from the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, edited by R. Kittel in 1984. Before its final edit, all the New Testament and much of the Old Testament were circulated among Vietnamese pastors in Vietnam, Asia, Europe, the U.S. and in other nations. Their suggestions or recommendations for changes were reviewed by the Translation Committee and some were incorporated into the Bible text. The NVB is an accurate dynamic equivalent translation for Vietnam that is easy-to-read and easy-to-understand.
