IGNITE Your Prayer Lifeনমুনা
Day 2: Developing a Habit of Prayer
Devotional: By the age of three my son knew The Lord’s Prayer and understood the importance of giving gratitude daily. Each night while praying together I would ask him what he was grateful for, and he was required to list a minimum of three things. I will never forget the day he said, “And God… I just want to thank you for the curtains, Lord.” It was such a cute moment that I almost began to chuckle and then the Holy Spirit reminded me what a blessing it was to have window coverings and how we should never take anything for granted. My son learned that developing a habit of prayer involved consistent communication with God and that it could be communicating any and everything with Him. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, we are encouraged to "rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." Making prayer a regular part of our daily routine helps us stay connected to God and aligns our hearts with His will. Today, focus on establishing a consistent prayer habit, whether through scheduled times of prayer or spontaneous conversations with God throughout the day.
Reflection Questions:
1. What challenges do you face in maintaining a consistent prayer habit?
2. How can you incorporate prayer more naturally into your daily routine?
Prayer Prompt: Holy Spirit, activate as we pray for the discipline and desire to develop a consistent and joyful habit of prayer. Speak in ways we have yet to hear and allow our spiritual ears to be open to hearing You fully. Ignite a desire for a disciplined prayer life greater than we’ve ever encountered.
