7 Days of Trusting God in Everythingনমুনা
Refuge and Strength
In the psalm you will read today depicts absolutely dire circumstances. The earth gives way. The earth literally moves away. The mountains fall into the sea. The water surrounds, causing the mountain to tremble. It’s a real calamity. Yet, the psalm starts with God. God is a present help in the midst of earth-shattering consequences. He is above the fray. Has your life given way? Do you have important people or situations impossibly thrown into the sea of chaos? God promises to be your strength. Amid swirling waters that make no sense, God is there. Even in the unanswered prayers. Even in the misunderstood situations. Your life can become like nothing you recognize, but you can still rely on God. He has been, is, and always will be with you.
But it is your choice. God cannot remain your ever-present help if you choose to focus on the storm. When the safety of the ground beneath gives way, what is your response? Do you trust God, who promises to be your refuge in the midst? God is our present, real, never-leaving help in trouble. He stands with us, and in him, we find refuge and strength.
Trust and Focus: Life is so real, isn’t it? But remember this: God is in control. He will provide you his help and peace in all things, but it is your choice. Will you choose to focus on God? Invite God to access your plans, hopes, and dreams.
