How Christians Can Celebrate Chanukah

DAY 6 OF 8

"Celebrating Chanukah – 6th Night"

God has made His wonders to be remembered (Psalm 111:4). We will remember.

Chanukah remembers a time in the history of Israel when the Temple had been defiled and Jewish people were forced to either worship false gods or suffer tremendous persecution. Through God, a greatly outnumbered band of Jewish fighters revolted and victoriously took back the Temple. Messianic Judaism celebrates this triumph and also the greatest conquest ever won: Yeshua’s victory over death and sin on our behalf.

On this sixth night of Chanukah as six candles fill the Chanukiah, we remember the victory of the Maccabees and the victory of Messiah.

Chanukah Blessings

Blessed are You, LORD, our God, king of the universe, Who has sanctified us by His commandments and has given us Yeshua the Messiah, the light of the world.

Blessed are You, LORD, our God, king of the universe, Who has performed miracles for our ancestors in those days at this time.

Victorious

“But in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37 TLV).

“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31 TLV).

“But thanks be to God, who keeps giving us the victory through our Lord Yeshua Messiah!” (1 Corinthians 15:57 TLV).

God, we thank You for the eternal victory You have won for us, and that You continue to give us victory in our daily lives through Yeshua. We are more than conquerors because of Your great love for us. You are for us, and we are so grateful. Thank You, Yeshua, for taking the penalty of our sin for us. Thank You for the eternal and daily hope You provide to us! Thank You that through Your victory we are made strong.

Thank You, Father, that You are for us! In Yeshua’s name we pray.
