It All Counts

DAY 2 OF 6

It All Counts

Joseph was a dreamer. At only seventeen years of age, God showed him big dreams in which his family and an entire people would bow their knees before him. Let's take a look at his history:

Joseph stands out as a leader, as the chosen one. But when he decides to tell his dreams to his brothers, they react immediately with hate. They reject him and plan his death. They finally end up selling him as a slave.

Being a slave, Joseph ends up in jail, making a difference even in that place. God exalts him in every season of his life; He takes him to serve at the palace, where he ends up being the king's right hand.

Thirteen years later, because of the situation of the country, his brothers realize that Joseph's dream is coming to pass. When they go to Egypt, they see him in a leadrship position and they don't recognize him. But Joseph reveals himself to them and helps them.

When Joseph's father dies, his brothers feel insecure. They think that he will take revenge and that he didn't do so before because of his love towards their father.

That's where today's story starts. The attitude we see in Joseph is so important and it can help us to mature in our faith. He says to them: "Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."

Joseph had an amazing attitude because he understood that it all counts. For sixteen years, they thought he had a grudge against them. But as we can see in this story, living with a divine perspective allows us to see God's plan and purpose, even in the middle of the pain and rejection. Joseph's focus was not on the things that others had done to him but on what God had deposited in him.

Many people may have hurt you, but having an attitude that understands that it all counts will determine how you face the challenges in your life. Can you recognize wounds in your heart that you haven't healed yet? Ask God to change your perspective today, so that you can see all the good He has done in your life despite the pain. I want to invite you to believe that He transforms everything and makes all things new.
