Dwell Christmas by David Binionনমুনা
"This is the season to rejoice
Leave all your sorrows far behind
The Savior Jesus has come to earth”
- Merry Merry Christmas, David Binion & James Gross
Sometimes, it can be hard to express joy and celebration when your troubles never seem to leave you alone. Hearing about the love and hope found in Jesus is all well and good, of course, but that does not magically make the problems you face in your own life disappear. You still have to face them and take the hard hits as they come. For those who can still take the time to celebrate the Lord’s great gift to mankind, however, even in the midst of what they might be facing, the reward is that much sweeter when it comes. When a woman gives birth, it’s not an easy process, there’s no getting around it. But when the baby is born, there is joy in the birth. This new life in the world wipes out memory of the pain. The sadness you have right now is similar to that pain, but the coming joy is also similar.
“When I see you again, you’ll be full of joy, and it will be a joy no one can rob from you. You’ll no longer be so full of questions” (John 16:21-23, MSG).
No pain is too great for Jesus. Even when you’re facing some of the worst pain imaginable, trust and know that He has you; celebrate the victory that is already yours, because He already paid the ultimate sacrifice for it. Embrace the joy and discover the strength that only comes in His presence.
