Philippians 3:4
Philippians 3:2-6 The Message (MSG)
Steer clear of the barking dogs, those religious busybodies, all bark and no bite. All they’re interested in is appearances—knife-happy circumcisers, I call them. The real believers are the ones the Spirit of God leads to work away at this ministry, filling the air with Christ’s praise as we do it. We couldn’t carry this off by our own efforts, and we know it—even though we can list what many might think are impressive credentials. You know my pedigree: a legitimate birth, circumcised on the eighth day; an Israelite from the elite tribe of Benjamin; a strict and devout adherent to God’s law; a fiery defender of the purity of my religion, even to the point of persecuting the church; a meticulous observer of everything set down in God’s law Book.
Philippians 3:4 King James Version (KJV)
Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more
Philippians 3:4 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
although I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If anyone else has a mind to put confidence in the flesh, I far more
Philippians 3:4 New Century Version (NCV)
although I might be able to put trust in myself. If anyone thinks he has a reason to trust in himself, he should know that I have greater reason for trusting in myself.
Philippians 3:4 American Standard Version (ASV)
though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh: if any other man thinketh to have confidence in the flesh, I yet more
Philippians 3:4 New International Version (NIV)
though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more
Philippians 3:4 New King James Version (NKJV)
though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so
Philippians 3:4 Amplified Bible (AMP)
though I myself might have [some grounds for] confidence in the flesh [if I were pursuing salvation by works]. If anyone else thinks that he has reason to be confident in the flesh [that is, in his own efforts to achieve salvation], I have far more
Philippians 3:4 New Living Translation (NLT)
though I could have confidence in my own effort if anyone could. Indeed, if others have reason for confidence in their own efforts, I have even more!
