Ecclesiastes 2:8
Ecclesiastes 2:4-8 The Message (MSG)
Oh, I did great things: built houses, planted vineyards, designed gardens and parks and planted a variety of fruit trees in them, made pools of water to irrigate the groves of trees. I bought slaves, male and female, who had children, giving me even more slaves; then I acquired large herds and flocks, larger than any before me in Jerusalem. I piled up silver and gold, loot from kings and kingdoms. I gathered a chorus of singers to entertain me with song, and—most exquisite of all pleasures— voluptuous maidens for my bed.
Ecclesiastes 2:8 King James Version (KJV)
I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts.
Ecclesiastes 2:8 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Also, I collected for myself silver and gold and the treasure of kings and provinces. I provided for myself male and female singers and the pleasures of men—many concubines.
Ecclesiastes 2:8 New Century Version (NCV)
I also gathered silver and gold for myself, treasures from kings and other areas. I had male and female singers and all the women a man could ever want.
Ecclesiastes 2:8 American Standard Version (ASV)
I gathered me also silver and gold, and the treasure of kings and of the provinces; I gat me men-singers and women-singers, and the delights of the sons of men, musical instruments, and that of all sorts.
