1 Corinthians 9:21
1 Corinthians 9:19-23 The Message (MSG)
Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone, I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralized—whoever. I didn’t take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christ—but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. I’ve become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life. I did all this because of the Message. I didn’t just want to talk about it; I wanted to be in on it!
1 Corinthians 9:21 King James Version (KJV)
to them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
1 Corinthians 9:21 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
to those who are without law, as without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without law.
1 Corinthians 9:21 New Century Version (NCV)
To those who are without the law I became like a person who is without the law. I did this to win those people who are without the law. (But really, I am not without God’s law—I am ruled by Christ’s law.)
1 Corinthians 9:21 American Standard Version (ASV)
to them that are without law, as without law, not being without law to God, but under law to Christ, that I might gain them that are without law.
1 Corinthians 9:21 New International Version (NIV)
To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law.
1 Corinthians 9:21 New King James Version (NKJV)
to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law
1 Corinthians 9:21 Amplified Bible (AMP)
To those who are without (outside) the Law, [I became] as one without the Law, though [I am] not without the law of God, but under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without law.
1 Corinthians 9:21 New Living Translation (NLT)
When I am with the Gentiles who do not follow the Jewish law, I too live apart from that law so I can bring them to Christ. But I do not ignore the law of God; I obey the law of Christ.
