My job as a hospital chaplain has taught me a lot about what grief is—how it operates, how it affects us, and how it isolates those who suffer from it. In this devotional, we’ll talk about what it means to grieve. As you mourn your loss in the ways that come naturally to you, don’t limit yourself to the following few days. Take as long as you need.

Stumbling, drowning, abandoned—if you ever feel this way, this is the Plan for you. God joins us in the pit and brings us, arm in arm, into clear light and fresh air. Each day includes Scriptures and artwork that meet us in the darkness and remind us of God’s promise of light.

The book of Job chronicles testing a righteous man's faith through suffering. Although Job's friends attempt to comfort him, it is only by God's revelation of His wisdom and might that Job finds true comfort. Even in deep suffering, God can do all things, and none of His purposes can be thwarted (Job 42:2).

In this devotional, we will dig into what Scripture says about love, and I will share my story of discovering God’s love, to the point of forgiving the person who hurt me the most in my life. God desperately wants to show you the depths of His love and the person(s) in your life who you have struggled to love and forgive. Will you let love in?
