Let their supper be bait in a trap that snaps shut; May their best friends be trappers who’ll skin them alive.

Let their table become a snare before them: And that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.

May their table before them become a snare; And when they are in peace, may it become a trap.

Let their own feasts cause their ruin; let their feasts trap them and pay them back.

Let their table before them become a snare; And when they are in peace, let it become a trap.

May the table set before them become a snare; may it become retribution and a trap.

Let their table become a snare before them, And their well-being a trap.

¶May their table [with all its abundance and luxury] become a snare [to them]; And when they are in peace [secure at their sacrificial feasts], may it become a trap.

Let the bountiful table set before them become a snare and their prosperity become a trap.

Let their “feasts” turn to ashes. Let their “peace and security” become their downfall.

Let their own table before them become a snare; and when they are at peace, let it become a trap.
