Ascribe to the LORD, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness. The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic. The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. He makes Lebanon leap like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox. The voice of the LORD strikes with flashes of lightning. The voice of the LORD shakes the desert; the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.

Bravo, GOD, bravo! Gods and all angels shout, “Encore!” In awe before the glory, in awe before God’s visible power. Stand at attention! Dress your best to honor him! GOD thunders across the waters, Brilliant, his voice and his face, streaming brightness— GOD, across the flood waters. GOD’s thunder tympanic, GOD’s thunder symphonic. GOD’s thunder smashes cedars, GOD topples the northern cedars. The mountain ranges skip like spring colts, The high ridges jump like wild kid goats. GOD’s thunder spits fire. GOD thunders, the wilderness quakes; He makes the desert of Kadesh shake.

Proclaim his majesty, all you mighty sons of YAHWEH, giving all the glory and strength back to him! Be in awe before his majesty. Be in awe before such power and might! Come worship wonderful YAHWEH, arrayed in all his splendor, bowing in worship as he appears in the beauty of holiness. Give him the honor due his name. Worship him wearing the glory-garments of your holy, priestly calling! The voice of the Lord echoes through the skies and seas. The Glory-God reigns as he thunders in the clouds. So powerful is his voice, so brilliant and bright— how majestic as he thunders over the great waters! His tympanic thunder topples the strongest of trees.
