I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings from the wicked who are out to destroy me, from my mortal enemies who surround me. They close up their callous hearts, and their mouths speak with arrogance. They have tracked me down, they now surround me, with eyes alert, to throw me to the ground. They are like a lion hungry for prey, like a fierce lion crouching in cover.

I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me; hear my words. Wondrously show your steadfast love, O Savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at your right hand. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings, from the wicked who do me violence, my deadly enemies who surround me. They close their hearts to pity; with their mouths they speak arrogantly. They have now surrounded our steps; they set their eyes to cast us to the ground. He is like a lion eager to tear, as a young lion lurking in ambush.

I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray. Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies. Guard me as you would guard your own eyes. Hide me in the shadow of your wings. Protect me from wicked people who attack me, from murderous enemies who surround me. They are without pity. Listen to their boasting! They track me down and surround me, watching for the chance to throw me to the ground. They are like hungry lions, eager to tear me apart— like young lions hiding in ambush.

I call on you, God, because you will answer me;  listen closely to me; hear what I say. Display the wonders of your faithful love,  Savior of all who seek refuge  from those who rebel against your right hand.  Protect me as the pupil of your eye;  hide me in the shadow of your wings  from  the wicked who treat me violently,  my deadly enemies who surround me.  They are uncaring;  , their mouths speak arrogantly.  They advance against me;  now they surround me.  They are determined  to throw me to the ground.  They are  like a lion eager to tear, like a young lion lurking in ambush.

I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: Incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee From those that rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye, Hide me under the shadow of thy wings, From the wicked that oppress me, From my deadly enemies, who compass me about. They are inclosed in their own fat: With their mouth they speak proudly. They have now compassed us in our steps: They have set their eyes bowing down to the earth; Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, And as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings, From the wicked who oppress me, From my deadly enemies who surround me. They have closed up their fat hearts; With their mouths they speak proudly. They have now surrounded us in our steps; They have set their eyes, crouching down to the earth, As a lion is eager to tear his prey, And like a young lion lurking in secret places.

I call to you, God, because I’m sure of an answer. So—answer! bend your ear! listen sharp! Paint grace-graffiti on the fences; take in your frightened children who Are running from the neighborhood bullies straight to you. Keep your eye on me; hide me under your cool wing feathers From the wicked who are out to get me, from mortal enemies closing in. Their hearts are hard as nails, their mouths blast hot air. They are after me, nipping my heels, determined to bring me down, Lions ready to rip me apart, young lions poised to pounce. Up, GOD: beard them! break them! By your sword, free me from their clutches; Barehanded, GOD, break these mortals, these flat-earth people who can’t think beyond today.

Show Your wonderful faithfulness, Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand From those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me in the shadow of Your wings From the wicked who deal violently with me, My deadly enemies who surround me. They have closed their unfeeling hearts, With their mouths they speak proudly. They have now surrounded us in our steps; They set their eyes to cast us down to the ground. He is like a lion that is eager to tear, And as a young lion lurking in secret places.

¶I have called upon You, for You, O God, will answer me; Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech. Wondrously show Your [marvelous and amazing] lovingkindness, O Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand From those who rise up against them. Keep me [in Your affectionate care, protect me] as the apple of Your eye; Hide me in the [protective] shadow of Your wings From the wicked who despoil and deal violently with me, My deadly enemies who surround me. They have closed their unfeeling heart [to kindness and compassion]; With their mouths they speak proudly and make presumptuous claims. They track us down and have now surrounded us in our steps; They set their eyes to force us to the ground, He is like a lion eager to tear [his prey], And like a young lion lurking in hiding places.

I call to you for you will answer me, O God. Listen to me! Hear what I say! Accomplish awesome, faithful deeds, you who powerfully deliver those who look to you for protection from their enemies. Protect me as you would protect the pupil of your eye! Hide me in the shadow of your wings! Protect me from the wicked men who attack me, my enemies who crowd around me for the kill. They are calloused; they speak arrogantly. They attack me, now they surround me; they intend to throw me to the ground. He is like a lion that wants to tear its prey to bits, like a young lion crouching in hidden places.
