Psalms 146:2-4
Psalms 146:1-9 The Message (MSG)
Hallelujah! O my soul, praise GOD! All my life long I’ll praise GOD, singing songs to my God as long as I live. Don’t put your life in the hands of experts who know nothing of life, of salvation life. Mere humans don’t have what it takes; when they die, their projects die with them. Instead, get help from the God of Jacob, put your hope in GOD and know real blessing! GOD made sky and soil, sea and all the fish in it. He always does what he says— he defends the wronged, he feeds the hungry. GOD frees prisoners— he gives sight to the blind, he lifts up the fallen. GOD loves good people, protects strangers, takes the side of orphans and widows, but makes short work of the wicked.
Psalms 146:2-4 King James Version (KJV)
While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, In whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; In that very day his thoughts perish.
Psalms 146:2-4 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
I will praise the LORD while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation. His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; In that very day his thoughts perish.
Psalms 146:2-4 New Century Version (NCV)
I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praises to my God as long as I live. Do not put your trust in princes or other people, who cannot save you. When people die, they are buried. Then all of their plans come to an end.
Psalms 146:2-4 American Standard Version (ASV)
While I live will I praise Jehovah: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. Put not your trust in princes, Nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; In that very day his thoughts perish.
Psalms 146:2-4 New International Version (NIV)
I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.
Psalms 146:2-4 New King James Version (NKJV)
While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.
Psalms 146:2-4 Amplified Bible (AMP)
While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God as long as I live. Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation (help). When his spirit leaves him, he returns to the earth; In that very day his thoughts and plans perish. [1 Cor 2:6]
Psalms 146:2-4 New Living Translation (NLT)
I will praise the LORD as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath. Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them.
Psalms 146:2-4 The Passion Translation (TPT)
I will spend my life praising you and singing high praises to you, my God, every day of my life! We can never look to men for help; no matter who they are, they can’t save us, for even our great leaders fail and fall. They too are just mortals who will one day die. At death the spirits of all depart and their bodies return to dust. In the day of their death all their projects and plans are over.
Psalms 146:2-4 English Standard Version 2016 (ESV)
I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish.
