So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron. Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities. They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.

So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! For he shatters the doors of bronze and cuts in two the bars of iron. Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction; they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.

That is why he broke them with hard labor; they fell, and no one was there to help them. “LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains. Let them praise the LORD for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. For he broke down their prison gates of bronze; he cut apart their bars of iron. Some were fools; they rebelled and suffered for their sins. They couldn’t stand the thought of food, and they were knocking on death’s door. “LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.

He broke their spirits  with hard labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.  Then they cried out to the  LORD in their trouble; he saved them from their distress.  He brought them out of darkness and gloom and broke their chains apart.  Let them give thanks to the  LORD for his faithful love and his wondrous works for all humanity.  For he has broken down the bronze gates and cut through the iron bars.  Fools suffered affliction because of their rebellious ways and their iniquities.  They loathed all food and came near the gates of death.  Then they cried out to the  LORD in their trouble; he saved them from their distress.  He sent his word and healed them; he rescued them from their traps.

Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; They fell down, and there was none to help. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, And he saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And brake their bands in sunder. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he hath broken the gates of brass, And cut the bars of iron in sunder. Fools because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; And they draw near unto the gates of death. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, And he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Some of you were locked in a dark cell, cruelly confined behind bars, Punished for defying God’s Word, for turning your back on the High God’s counsel— A hard sentence, and your hearts so heavy, and not a soul in sight to help. Then you called out to GOD in your desperate condition; he got you out in the nick of time. He led you out of your dark, dark cell, broke open the jail and led you out. So thank GOD for his marvelous love, for his miracle mercy to the children he loves; He shattered the heavy jailhouse doors, he snapped the prison bars like matchsticks! Some of you were sick because you’d lived a bad life, your bodies feeling the effects of your sin; You couldn’t stand the sight of food, so miserable you thought you’d be better off dead. Then you called out to GOD in your desperate condition; he got you out in the nick of time. He spoke the word that healed you, that pulled you back from the brink of death. So thank GOD for his marvelous love, for his miracle mercy to the children he loves; Offer thanksgiving sacrifices, tell the world what he’s done—sing it out!

Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was no one to help. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death And broke their bands apart. They shall give thanks to the LORD for His mercy, And for His wonders to the sons of mankind! For He has shattered gates of bronze And cut off bars of iron. ¶Fools, because of their rebellious way, And because of their guilty deeds, were afflicted. Their souls loathed all kinds of food, And they came close to the gates of death. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, And saved them from their destruction.

Therefore He humbled their heart with hard labor; They stumbled and there was no one to help. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He saved them from their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the deep (deathly) darkness And broke their bonds apart. [Ps 68:6; Acts 12:7; 16:26] Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonderful acts to the children of men! For He has shattered the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron apart. ¶Fools, because of their rebellious way, And because of their sins, were afflicted. They detested all kinds of food, And they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He saved them from their distresses. So he used suffering to humble them; they stumbled and no one helped them up. They cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their troubles. He brought them out of the utter darkness, and tore off their shackles. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people! For he shattered the bronze gates, and hacked through the iron bars. They acted like fools in their rebellious ways, and suffered because of their sins. They lost their appetite for all food, and they drew near the gates of death. They cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their troubles. He sent them an assuring word and healed them; he rescued them from the pits where they were trapped.
