Proverbs 13:10-12
Proverbs 13:10-12 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Wisdom opens your heart to receive wise counsel, but pride closes your ears to advice and gives birth only to quarrels and strife. Wealth quickly gained is quickly wasted — easy come, easy go! But if you gradually gain wealth, you will watch it grow. When hope’s dream seems to drag on and on, the delay can be depressing. But when at last your dream comes true, life’s sweetness will satisfy your soul.
Proverbs 13:10-12 The Message (MSG)
Arrogant know-it-alls stir up discord, but wise men and women listen to each other’s counsel. Easy come, easy go, but steady diligence pays off. Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn life around.
Proverbs 13:10-12 King James Version (KJV)
Only by pride cometh contention: But with the well advised is wisdom. Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: But he that gathereth by labour shall increase. Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: But when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13:10-12 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Through insolence comes nothing but strife, But wisdom is with those who receive counsel. Wealth obtained by fraud dwindles, But the one who gathers by labor increases it. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13:10-12 New Century Version (NCV)
Pride only leads to arguments, but those who take advice are wise. Money that comes easily disappears quickly, but money that is gathered little by little will grow. It is sad not to get what you hoped for. But wishes that come true are like eating fruit from the tree of life.
Proverbs 13:10-12 American Standard Version (ASV)
By pride cometh only contention; But with the well-advised is wisdom. Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished; But he that gathereth by labor shall have increase. Hope deferred maketh the heart sick; But when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13:10-12 New International Version (NIV)
Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice. Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13:10-12 New King James Version (NKJV)
By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom. Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, But he who gathers by labor will increase. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.

Proverbs 13:10-12 New Living Translation (NLT)
Pride leads to conflict; those who take advice are wise. Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.
