When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever. As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so are sluggards to those who send them. The fear of the LORD adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short.

When the tempest passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous is established forever. Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him. The fear of the LORD prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short.

When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation. Lazy people irritate their employers, like vinegar to the teeth or smoke in the eyes. Fear of the LORD lengthens one’s life, but the years of the wicked are cut short.

When the whirlwind passes, the wicked are no more,  but the righteous are secure forever.  Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes,  so the slacker is to the one who sends him on an errand. The fear of the  LORD prolongs life,  , but the years of the wicked are cut short.

As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: But the righteous is an everlasting foundation. As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, So is the sluggard to them that send him. The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: But the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

When the storm is over, there’s nothing left of the wicked; good people, firm on their rock foundation, aren’t even fazed. A lazy employee will give you nothing but trouble; it’s vinegar in the mouth, smoke in the eyes. The Fear-of-GOD expands your life; a wicked life is a puny life.
