Matthew 22:44-46
Matthew 22:43-46 The Message (MSG)
Jesus replied, “Well, if the Christ is David’s son, how do you explain that David, under inspiration, named Christ his ‘Master’? God said to my Master, “Sit here at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.” “Now if David calls him ‘Master,’ how can he at the same time be his son?” That stumped them, literalists that they were. Unwilling to risk losing face again in one of these public verbal exchanges, they quit asking questions for good.
Matthew 22:44-46 King James Version (KJV)
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
Matthew 22:44-46 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
‘THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, “SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I PUT YOUR ENEMIES BENEATH YOUR FEET” ’? If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his son?” No one was able to answer Him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him another question.
Matthew 22:44-46 New Century Version (NCV)
‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit by me at my right side, until I put your enemies under your control.” ’ David calls the Christ ‘Lord,’ so how can the Christ be his son?” None of the Pharisees could answer Jesus’ question, and after that day no one was brave enough to ask him any more questions.
Matthew 22:44-46 American Standard Version (ASV)
The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I put thine enemies underneath thy feet? If David then calleth him Lord, how is he his son? And no one was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

Matthew 22:44-46 New King James Version (NKJV)
‘The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool” ’? If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?” And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore.
Matthew 22:44-46 Amplified Bible (AMP)
‘THE LORD (the Father) SAID TO MY LORD (the Son, the Messiah), “SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I PUT YOUR ENEMIES UNDER YOUR FEET” ’? [Ps 110:1] So then, if David calls Him (the Son, the Messiah) ‘Lord,’ how is He David’s son?” No one was able to say a word to Him in answer, nor from that day on did anyone dare to question Him again.
Matthew 22:44-46 New Living Translation (NLT)
‘The LORD said to my Lord, Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies beneath your feet.’ Since David called the Messiah ‘my Lord,’ how can the Messiah be his son?” No one could answer him. And after that, no one dared to ask him any more questions.
Matthew 22:44-46 The Passion Translation (TPT)
The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit beside me in the place of authority until I subdue all your enemies under your feet’? “So how could David call his own son ‘the Lord’?” No one could come up with an answer. And from that day on none of the Pharisees had the courage to question Jesus any longer.
