Isaiah 59:13-14
Isaiah 59:12-15 The Message (MSG)
Our wrongdoings pile up before you, God, our sins stand up and accuse us. Our wrongdoings stare us down; we know in detail what we’ve done: Mocking and denying GOD, not following our God, Spreading false rumors, whipping up revolt, pregnant with lies, muttering malice. Justice is beaten back, Righteousness is banished to the sidelines, Truth staggers down the street, Honesty is nowhere to be found, Good is missing in action. Anyone renouncing evil is beaten and robbed.
Isaiah 59:13-14 King James Version (KJV)
in transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
Isaiah 59:13-14 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Transgressing and denying the LORD, And turning away from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving in and uttering from the heart lying words. Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands far away; For truth has stumbled in the street, And uprightness cannot enter.
Isaiah 59:13-14 New Century Version (NCV)
sinning and rejecting the LORD, turning away from our God, planning to hurt others and to disobey God, planning and speaking lies. So we have driven away justice, and we have kept away from what is right. Truth is not spoken in the streets; what is honest is not allowed to enter the city.
Isaiah 59:13-14 American Standard Version (ASV)
transgressing and denying Jehovah, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. And justice is turned away backward, and righteousness standeth afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and uprightness cannot enter.
Isaiah 59:13-14 New International Version (NIV)
rebellion and treachery against the LORD, turning our backs on our God, inciting revolt and oppression, uttering lies our hearts have conceived. So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter.
Isaiah 59:13-14 New King James Version (NKJV)
In transgressing and lying against the LORD, And departing from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter.
Isaiah 59:13-14 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Rebelling against and denying the LORD, Turning away from [following] our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and muttering from the heart lying words. Justice is pushed back, And righteous behavior stands far away; For truth has fallen in the city square, And integrity cannot enter.
Isaiah 59:13-14 New Living Translation (NLT)
We know we have rebelled and have denied the LORD. We have turned our backs on our God. We know how unfair and oppressive we have been, carefully planning our deceitful lies. Our courts oppose the righteous, and justice is nowhere to be found. Truth stumbles in the streets, and honesty has been outlawed.
Isaiah 59:13-14 The Passion Translation (TPT)
We have rebelled and even tried to deny YAHWEH; we have forsaken our God. Our speech stirs up oppression and revolt, and our hearts conceive, then confess, lies. Justice is driven away and righteousness stands on the sidelines, for truth has stumbled in the public square and morality cannot enter.
Isaiah 59:13-14 English Standard Version 2016 (ESV)
transgressing, and denying the LORD, and turning back from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart lying words. Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the public squares, and uprightness cannot enter.
