Isaiah 46:6-7
Isaiah 46:5-7 The Message (MSG)
“So to whom will you compare me, the Incomparable? Can you picture me without reducing me? People with a lot of money hire craftsmen to make them gods. The artisan delivers the god, and they kneel and worship it! They carry it around in holy parades, then take it home and put it on a shelf. And there it sits, day in and day out, a dependable god, always right where you put it. Say anything you want to it, it never talks back. Of course, it never does anything either!
Isaiah 46:6-7 King James Version (KJV)
They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship. They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
Isaiah 46:6-7 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Those who lavish gold from the purse And weigh silver on the scale Hire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god; They bow down, indeed they worship it. They lift it upon the shoulder and carry it; They set it in its place and it stands there. It does not move from its place. Though one may cry to it, it cannot answer; It cannot deliver him from his distress.
Isaiah 46:6-7 New Century Version (NCV)

Isaiah 46:6-7 American Standard Version (ASV)
Such as lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, they hire a goldsmith, and he maketh it a god; they fall down, yea, they worship. It cannot move from its place. Even if one cries to it [for help], the idol cannot answer; It cannot save him from his distress.

Some people pour out their silver and gold and hire a craftsman to make a god from it. Then they bow down and worship it!
