They know nothing, they understand nothing; their eyes are plastered over so they cannot see, and their minds closed so they cannot understand.

They know not, nor do they discern, for he has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see, and their hearts, so that they cannot understand.

Such stupidity and ignorance! Their eyes are closed, and they cannot see. Their minds are shut, and they cannot think.

Such people  do not comprehend and cannot understand, for he has shut their eyes  so they cannot see, and their minds so they cannot understand.

They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

They do not know nor understand; For He has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see, And their hearts, so that they cannot understand.

Pretty stupid, wouldn’t you say? Don’t they have eyes in their heads? Are their brains working at all? Doesn’t it occur to them to say, “Half of this tree I used for firewood: I baked bread, roasted meat, and enjoyed a good meal. And now I’ve used the rest to make a repulsive no-god. Here I am praying to a stick of wood!”

They do not know, nor do they understand, for He has smeared over their eyes so that they cannot see, and their hearts so that they cannot comprehend.

They do not know, nor do they understand, for God has muddied their eyes so that they cannot see, and their hearts (minds) as well so that they cannot understand.

They do not comprehend or understand, for their eyes are blind and cannot see; their minds do not discern.
