Isaiah 24:14-16
Isaiah 24:14-16 New King James Version (NKJV)
They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing; For the majesty of the LORD They shall cry aloud from the sea. Therefore glorify the LORD in the dawning light, The name of the LORD God of Israel in the coastlands of the sea. From the ends of the earth we have heard songs: “Glory to the righteous!” But I said, “I am ruined, ruined! Woe to me! The treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously, Indeed, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.”
Isaiah 24:14-20 The Message (MSG)
But there are some who will break into glad song. Out of the west they’ll shout of GOD’s majesty. Yes, from the east GOD’s glory will ascend. Every island of the sea Will broadcast GOD’s fame, the fame of the God of Israel. From the four winds and the seven seas we hear the singing: “All praise to the Righteous One!” But I said, “That’s all well and good for somebody, but all I can see is doom, doom, and more doom.” All of them at one another’s throats, yes, all of them at one another’s throats. Terror and pits and booby traps are everywhere, whoever you are. If you run from the terror, you’ll fall into the pit. If you climb out of the pit, you’ll get caught in the trap. Chaos pours out of the skies. The foundations of earth are crumbling. Earth is smashed to pieces, earth is ripped to shreds, earth is wobbling out of control, Earth staggers like a drunk, sways like a shack in a high wind. Its piled-up sins are too much for it. It collapses and won’t get up again.
Isaiah 24:14-16 King James Version (KJV)
They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the LORD, they shall cry aloud from the sea. Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea. From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.
Isaiah 24:14-16 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
They raise their voices, they shout for joy; They cry out from the west concerning the majesty of the LORD. Therefore glorify the LORD in the east, The name of the LORD, the God of Israel, In the coastlands of the sea. From the ends of the earth we hear songs, “Glory to the Righteous One,” But I say, “Woe to me! Woe to me! Alas for me! The treacherous deal treacherously, And the treacherous deal very treacherously.”
Isaiah 24:14-16 New Century Version (NCV)
The people shout for joy. From the west they praise the greatness of the LORD. People in the east, praise the LORD. People in the islands of the sea, praise the name of the LORD, the God of Israel. We hear songs from every part of the earth praising God, the Righteous One. But I said, “I am dying! I am dying! How terrible it will be for me! Traitors turn against people; with their dishonesty, they turn against people.”
Isaiah 24:14-16 American Standard Version (ASV)
These shall lift up their voice, they shall shout; for the majesty of Jehovah they cry aloud from the sea. Wherefore glorify ye Jehovah in the east, even the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel, in the isles of the sea. From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs: Glory to the righteous. But I said, I pine away, I pine away, woe is me! the treacherous have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.
Isaiah 24:14-16 New International Version (NIV)
They raise their voices, they shout for joy; from the west they acclaim the LORD’s majesty. Therefore in the east give glory to the LORD; exalt the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, in the islands of the sea. From the ends of the earth we hear singing: “Glory to the Righteous One.”
Isaiah 24:14-16 Amplified Bible (AMP)
They [who have escaped and remain] raise their voices, they shout for joy; They rejoice from the [Mediterranean] Sea in the majesty of the LORD. Therefore honor and glorify the LORD in the east [in the region of light], The name of the LORD, the God of Israel [honor His name], In the coastlands and islands of the [Mediterranean] Sea. From the ends of the earth we hear songs, “Glory and honor to the Righteous One,” But I say, “I waste away, I waste away. Woe to me! The treacherous deal treacherously, Indeed, the treacherous deal very treacherously.”
Isaiah 24:14-16 New Living Translation (NLT)
But all who are left shout and sing for joy. Those in the west praise the LORD’s majesty. In eastern lands, give glory to the LORD. In the lands beyond the sea, praise the name of the LORD, the God of Israel. We hear songs of praise from the ends of the earth, songs that give glory to the Righteous One!
Isaiah 24:14-16 The Passion Translation (TPT)
The remnant lifts up its voice with a joyful shout. From the west they praise the majesty of the Lord YAHWEH, and in the east they give glory to the Lord God! The coastlands magnify the name of YAHWEH, the Lord God of Israel! From all over the world we hear their songs of praise— songs of glory and beauty to the Righteous One! But I said, “I feel I’m wasting away. I’m doomed; I’m wasting away.” With deception, deceivers deceive! With treachery, the treacherous betray!
Isaiah 24:14-16 English Standard Version 2016 (ESV)
They lift up their voices, they sing for joy; over the majesty of the LORD they shout from the west. Therefore in the east give glory to the LORD; in the coastlands of the sea, give glory to the name of the LORD, the God of Israel. From the ends of the earth we hear songs of praise, of glory to the Righteous One. But I say, “I waste away, I waste away. Woe is me! For the traitors have betrayed, with betrayal the traitors have betrayed.”
