Isaiah 2:10-12
Isaiah 2:10-12 New King James Version (NKJV)
Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, From the terror of the LORD And the glory of His majesty. The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, And the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the LORD of hosts Shall come upon everything proud and lofty, Upon everything lifted up— And it shall be brought low
Isaiah 2:10-17 The Message (MSG)
Head for the hills, hide in the caves From the terror of GOD, from his dazzling presence. People with a big head are headed for a fall, pretentious egos brought down a peg. It’s GOD alone at front-and-center on the Day we’re talking about, The Day that GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies is matched against all big-talking rivals, against all swaggering big names; Against all giant sequoias hugely towering, and against the expansive chestnut; Against Kilimanjaro and Annapurna, against the ranges of Alps and Andes; Against every soaring skyscraper, against all proud obelisks and statues; Against ocean-going luxury liners, against elegant three-masted schooners. The swelled big heads will be punctured bladders, the pretentious egos brought down to earth, Leaving GOD alone at front-and-center on the Day we’re talking about.
Isaiah 2:10-12 King James Version (KJV)
Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty. The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low
Isaiah 2:10-12 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Enter the rock and hide in the dust From the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty. The proud look of man will be abased And the loftiness of man will be humbled, And the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. For the LORD of hosts will have a day of reckoning Against everyone who is proud and lofty And against everyone who is lifted up, That he may be abased.
Isaiah 2:10-12 New Century Version (NCV)
Go into the caves of the cliffs; dig holes and hide in the ground from the anger of the LORD and from his great power! Proud people will be made humble, and they will bow low with shame. At that time only the LORD will still be praised. The LORD All-Powerful has a certain day planned when he will punish the proud and those who brag, and they will no longer be important.
Isaiah 2:10-12 American Standard Version (ASV)
Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty. The lofty looks of man shall be brought low, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day. For there shall be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon all that is proud and haughty, and upon all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low
Isaiah 2:10-12 New International Version (NIV)
Go into the rocks, hide in the ground from the fearful presence of the LORD and the splendor of his majesty! The eyes of the arrogant will be humbled and human pride brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. The LORD Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled)
Isaiah 2:10-12 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Go among the rocks and hide in the dust From the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty. The proud look of man will be degraded And the arrogance of men will be humbled, And the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. ¶For the LORD of hosts will have a day of reckoning Against all who are proud and arrogant And against all who are lifted up, That they may be degraded. [Zeph 2:3; Mal 4:1]
Isaiah 2:10-12 New Living Translation (NLT)
Crawl into caves in the rocks. Hide in the dust from the terror of the LORD and the glory of his majesty. Human pride will be brought down, and human arrogance will be humbled. Only the LORD will be exalted on that day of judgment. For the LORD of Heaven’s Armies has a day of reckoning. He will punish the proud and mighty and bring down everything that is exalted.
Isaiah 2:10-12 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Enter into the rock and hide in the dust from the dreadful presence of YAHWEH and from his majestic glory. The arrogant will be humbled and the pride of man brought low. Only one will be exalted in that day: YAHWEH! The Lord of Angel Armies has a day of humiliation in store for all the high and mighty, for all who are proud and self-exalting. They will be brought low.
