Isaiah 16:13-14
Isaiah 16:13-14 New King James Version (NKJV)
This is the word which the LORD has spoken concerning Moab since that time. But now the LORD has spoken, saying, “Within three years, as the years of a hired man, the glory of Moab will be despised with all that great multitude, and the remnant will be very small and feeble.”
Isaiah 16:13-14 The Message (MSG)
This is GOD’s earlier Message on Moab. GOD’s updated Message is, “In three years, no longer than the term of an enlisted soldier, Moab’s impressive presence will be gone, that splendid hot-air balloon will be punctured, and instead of a vigorous population, just a few shuffling bums panhandling handouts.”
Isaiah 16:13-14 King James Version (KJV)
This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning Moab since that time. But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.
Isaiah 16:13-14 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
This is the word which the LORD spoke earlier concerning Moab. But now the LORD speaks, saying, “Within three years, as a hired man would count them, the glory of Moab will be degraded along with all his great population, and his remnant will be very small and impotent.”
Isaiah 16:13-14 New Century Version (NCV)
Earlier the LORD said these things about Moab. Now the LORD says, “In three years all those people and what they take pride in will be hated. (This is three years as a hired helper would count time.) There will be a few people left, but they will be weak.”
Isaiah 16:13-14 American Standard Version (ASV)
This is the word that Jehovah spake concerning Moab in time past. But now Jehovah hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a hireling, the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and of no account.
Isaiah 16:13-14 New International Version (NIV)
This is the word the LORD has already spoken concerning Moab. But now the LORD says: “Within three years, as a servant bound by contract would count them, Moab’s splendor and all her many people will be despised, and her survivors will be very few and feeble.”
Isaiah 16:13-14 Amplified Bible (AMP)
This is the word which the LORD spoke earlier concerning Moab [when Moab’s pride and resistance to God were first known]. But now the LORD speaks, saying, “Within three years, as the years of a hired man [who will not serve longer than the agreed time], the glory of Moab will be degraded along with all the great population, and the remnant [that survives] will be very small and of no account.”
Isaiah 16:13-14 New Living Translation (NLT)
The LORD has already said these things about Moab in the past. But now the LORD says, “Within three years, counting each day, the glory of Moab will be ended. From its great population, only a feeble few will be left alive.”
Isaiah 16:13-14 The Passion Translation (TPT)
This was the word the Lord YAHWEH spoke in the past about Moab, but now the Lord YAHWEH says, “In exactly three years, the splendor of Moab and her huge population will shrink to nothing; only a small and feeble remnant will remain.”
Isaiah 16:13-14 English Standard Version 2016 (ESV)
This is the word that the LORD spoke concerning Moab in the past. But now the LORD has spoken, saying, “In three years, like the years of a hired worker, the glory of Moab will be brought into contempt, in spite of all his great multitude, and those who remain will be very few and feeble.”
