Ezekiel 32:11-16
Ezekiel 32:11-16 New Living Translation (NLT)
For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “The sword of the king of Babylon will come against you. I will destroy your hordes with the swords of mighty warriors— the terror of the nations. They will shatter the pride of Egypt, and all its hordes will be destroyed. I will destroy all your flocks and herds that graze beside the streams. Never again will people or animals muddy those waters with their feet. Then I will let the waters of Egypt become calm again, and they will flow as smoothly as olive oil, says the Sovereign LORD. And when I destroy Egypt and strip you of everything you own and strike down all your people, then you will know that I am the LORD. Yes, this is the funeral song they will sing for Egypt. Let all the nations mourn. Let them mourn for Egypt and its hordes. I, the Sovereign LORD, have spoken!”
Ezekiel 32:11-16 English Standard Version 2016 (ESV)
“For thus says the Lord GOD: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you. I will cause your multitude to fall by the swords of mighty ones, all of them most ruthless of nations. “They shall bring to ruin the pride of Egypt, and all its multitude shall perish. I will destroy all its beasts from beside many waters; and no foot of man shall trouble them anymore, nor shall the hoofs of beasts trouble them. Then I will make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, declares the Lord GOD. When I make the land of Egypt desolate, and when the land is desolate of all that fills it, when I strike down all who dwell in it, then they will know that I am the LORD. This is a lamentation that shall be chanted; the daughters of the nations shall chant it; over Egypt, and over all her multitude, shall they chant it, declares the Lord GOD.”
Ezekiel 32:11-16 The Message (MSG)
“‘GOD, the Master, says: “‘The sword of the king of Babylon is coming against you. I’ll use the swords of champions to lay your pride low, Use the most brutal of nations to knock Egypt off her high horse, to puncture that hot-air pomposity. I’ll destroy all their livestock that graze along the river. Neither human foot nor animal hoof will muddy those waters anymore. I’ll clear their springs and streams, make their rivers flow clean and smooth. Decree of GOD, the Master. When I turn Egypt back to the wild and strip her clean of all her abundant produce, When I strike dead all who live there, then they’ll realize that I am GOD.’ “This is a funeral song. Chant it. Daughters of the nations, chant it. Chant it over Egypt for the death of its pomp.” Decree of GOD, the Master.
Ezekiel 32:11-16 King James Version (KJV)
For thus saith the Lord GOD; The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee. By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall, the terrible of the nations, all of them: and they shall spoil the pomp of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed. I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside the great waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beasts trouble them. Then will I make their waters deep, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord GOD. When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate, and the country shall be destitute of that whereof it was full, when I shall smite all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I am the LORD. This is the lamentation wherewith they shall lament her: the daughters of the nations shall lament her: they shall lament for her, even for Egypt, and for all her multitude, saith the Lord GOD.

For thus says the Lord GOD, “The sword of the king of Babylon will come upon you. By the swords of the mighty ones I will cause your hordes to fall; all of them are tyrants of the nations, And they will devastate the pride of Egypt, And all its hordes will be destroyed. I will also destroy all its cattle from beside many waters; And the foot of man will not muddy them anymore And the hoofs of beasts will not muddy them. Then I will make their waters settle And will cause their rivers to run like oil,” Declares the Lord GOD. “When I make the land of Egypt a desolation, And the land is destitute of that which filled it, When I smite all those who live in it, Then they shall know that I am the LORD. This is a lamentation and they shall chant it. The daughters of the nations shall chant it. Over Egypt and over all her hordes they shall chant it,” declares the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel 32:11-16 New Century Version (NCV)
“ ‘So this is what the Lord GOD says: The sword of the king of Babylon will attack you. I will cause your people to fall by the swords of mighty soldiers, the most terrible in the world. They will destroy the pride of Egypt and all its people. I will also destroy all Egypt’s cattle which live alongside much water. The foot of a human will not stir the water, and the hoofs of cattle will not muddy it anymore. So I will let the Egyptians’ water become clear. I will cause their rivers to run as smoothly as olive oil, says the Lord GOD. When I make the land of Egypt empty and take everything that is in the land, when I destroy all those who live in Egypt, then they will know that I am the LORD.’ “This is the funeral song people will sing for Egypt. The women of the nations will sing it; they will sing a funeral song for Egypt and all its people, says the Lord GOD.”

For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee. By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall; the terrible of the nations are they all: and they shall bring to nought the pride of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed. I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside many waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beasts trouble them. Then will I make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord Jehovah. When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate and waste, a land destitute of that whereof it was full, when I shall smite all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I am Jehovah. This is the lamentation wherewith they shall lament; the daughters of the nations shall lament therewith; over Egypt, and over all her multitude, shall they lament therewith, saith the Lord Jehovah.

I will destroy all her cattle from beside abundant waters no longer to be stirred by the foot of man or muddied by the hooves of cattle. Then I will let her waters settle and make her streams flow like oil, declares the Sovereign LORD. When I make Egypt desolate and strip the land of everything in it, when I strike down all who live there, then they will know that I am the LORD.’ “This is the lament they will chant for her. Then I will make their waters clear, And make their rivers run like oil,” Says the Lord GOD. “When I make the land of Egypt desolate, And the country is destitute of all that once filled it, When I strike all who dwell in it, Then they shall know that I am the LORD. “This is the lamentation With which they shall lament her; The daughters of the nations shall lament her; They shall lament for her, for Egypt, And for all her multitude,” Says the Lord GOD.’ ”
Ezekiel 32:11-16 Amplified Bible (AMP)
For thus says the Lord GOD, “The sword of the king of Babylon will come on you. I will make your horde [of people] fall by the swords of the mighty—all of them are tyrants among the nations, And they will devastate the pride and presumption of Egypt, And all its hordes will be destroyed. “I will also destroy all its cattle from beside its great waters; And the foot of man will not muddy them anymore Nor will the hoofs of the animals muddy them. “Then I will make their waters quiet and clear; I will make their rivers run [slowly and smoothly] like oil,” Says the Lord GOD. “When I make the land of Egypt desolate, And the country is stripped and deprived of all that which filled it, When I strike all those who live in it, Then they will know [without any doubt] that I am the LORD. This is the dirge (funeral poem to be sung) and they shall sing it [for her]. The daughters of the nations shall sing it; for Egypt and for all her hordes they shall sing it,” says the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel 32:11-16 The Passion Translation (TPT)
“ ‘For Lord YAHWEH says to Egypt: The king of Babylon is coming to attack you! I will cause your great army to fall by the swords of mighty warriors. They are the most barbaric of nations. They will slice the pride of Egypt into pieces, and all your people will be destroyed. I will also slaughter your livestock grazing beside the plentiful waters. No person or animal will muddy the water in the watering places with their feet and hooves. Then I will settle their waters and make their rivers flow as smoothly as oil. I, Lord YAHWEH, have spoken. “ ‘When I reduce Egypt to a desolate wasteland and strip the land of all it contains, when I annihilate all who live there, then they will acknowledge that I am YAHWEH. “ ‘This is the funeral song that people will sing in mourning for Egypt. Women of other nations will sing in lament for it. They will utter a lamentation for the land of Egypt and all its many people. I, Lord YAHWEH, decree it!’ ”
