1 Corinthians 10:22
1 Corinthians 10:22 American Standard Version (ASV)
Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
1 Corinthians 10:19-22 The Message (MSG)
Do you see the difference? Sacrifices offered to idols are offered to nothing, for what’s the idol but a nothing? Or worse than nothing, a minus, a demon! I don’t want you to become part of something that reduces you to less than yourself. And you can’t have it both ways, banqueting with the Master one day and slumming with demons the next. Besides, the Master won’t put up with it. He wants us—all or nothing. Do you think you can get off with anything less?
1 Corinthians 10:22 King James Version (KJV)
Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
1 Corinthians 10:22 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? We are not stronger than He, are we?
1 Corinthians 10:22 New Century Version (NCV)
Are we trying to make the Lord jealous? We are not stronger than he is, are we?
1 Corinthians 10:22 New International Version (NIV)
Are we trying to arouse the Lord’s jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
1 Corinthians 10:22 New King James Version (NKJV)
Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
1 Corinthians 10:22 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Do we [really] provoke the Lord to jealousy [when we eat food sacrificed to handmade “gods” at pagan feasts]? Are we [spiritually] stronger than He? [Certainly not! He knows that the idols are nothing. But we deeply offend Him.] [Deut 32:21; Eccl 6:10; Is 45:9]
1 Corinthians 10:22 New Living Translation (NLT)
What? Do we dare to rouse the Lord’s jealousy? Do you think we are stronger than he is?
