Thankfulness is a recurring theme in the Bible. Christians are exhorted to “give thanks in all circumstances”, and they have so much reason to! Over the next few days, let’s read what the Bible has to say about this topic — and let’s practice thankfulness.

This plan deals with Thanks-giving. I was tempted to call the series "An Attitude of Gratitude" but there is something about the idea of Giving Thanks that appeals to me. Gratitude and Thankfulness are not limited to emotions that we experience from time to time, but are choices we make and gifts that we give.

Written following their return from exile, Chronicles is a theological retelling of Israel's monarchial history. In this post-exilic season, doubt and apathy plagued God's people and their trust in His promises. The Chronicler responds by reminding Israel of God's faithfulness from Adam to Moses to David and ultimately points toward a Greater David to come.
