Long before this time, Abraham had dug many wells. After he died, the Philistines filled the wells with sand. So Isaac went back and dug those wells again. He gave them the same names his father had given them. Isaac’s servants also dug a well near the little river and found fresh water. But the men who herded sheep in the Valley of Gerar argued with Isaac’s servants. They said, “This water is ours.” So Isaac named that well Esek. He gave it that name because it was the place where they had argued with him. Then Isaac’s servants dug another well. But there was an argument over this well too. So Isaac named that well Sitnah. Isaac moved from there and dug another well. No one came to argue about this well. So Isaac named it Rehoboth. He said, “Now the LORD has found a place for us. We will grow and be successful in this place.”

Who doesn’t love the idea of being blessed? We have a kind and generous Father who loves to lavish good gifts upon his kids. This seven-day devotional looks at what it means to connect with God through His Covenant, cast off the mindsets and strongholds that hold us back, and set new rhythms for prioritizing and creating a covenant lifestyle with God.
Jesus said that believers are in the world but not of the world. People want to be recognized and appreciated by others, and for this reason Christians often feel uncomfortable about “being different”. The Bible shows us our true status: we are not excluded from the world but rather included in the people of God. Our mission is to invite others to be part of this people. We will see from the lives of the patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph how life as a stranger and pilgrim can be blessed by the Lord and be of blessing to others.
