Jesus het by die apostels gebly en Hy het vir hulle gesê hulle mag nie weggaan van Jerusalem nie. Hulle moes daar wag totdat alles gebeur het wat die Vader belowe het. Jesus het gesê: “Ek het al klaar vir julle vertel van hierdie belofte. Die belofte is: Johannes die Doper het julle met water gedoop, maar God sal julle met die Heilige Gees doop. Julle sal nie lank moet wag nie.”
