After the two days He went on from there into Galilee. For Jesus Himself declared that a prophet has no honor in his own country. So when He arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed Him, since they had seen all the things that He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they too came to the feast. So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son was sick in Capernaum. Having heard that Jesus had come back from Judea to Galilee, he went to meet Him and began asking Him to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death. Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you [people] see [miraculous] signs and wonders, you [simply] will not believe.” The royal official pleaded with Him, “Sir, do come down [at once] before my child dies!” Jesus said to him, “Go; your son lives!” The man believed what Jesus said to him and started home. As he was already going down [the road], his servants met him and reported that his son was living [and was healthy]. So he asked them at what time he began to get better. They said, “Yesterday during the seventh hour (1 p.m.) the fever left him.” Then the father realized that it was at that very hour when Jesus had said to him, “Your son lives”; and he and his entire household believed and confidently trusted [in Him as Savior].

Racial unity can be elusive. As a black man who’s also a leader in white evangelicalism, Dr. Tony Evans understands how hard it can be to bring these worlds together. Yet he’s convinced that the gospel provides a way for Christians to find oneness despite the things that divide us. Dr. Evans shows us God's heart for racial unity by examining the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman.
Throughout the New Testament, Jesus shows compassion toward unlikely “sinners” who expressed great faith. Whether tax collectors, Roman centurions, or Samaritan women, Jesus repeatedly shows that he came to rescue people burdened with shame. During this plan, Bible teacher and author Kat Armstrong illustrates how these stories strengthen our understanding of God’s empathy and knowledge of how all types of people express beautiful faith in Jesus.
