JESUS: HIS LIFE, a new series on HISTORY, explores Jesus through the lens of those closest to Him, and this devotional is designed to inspire you with stories of people in the Bible whose lives were dramatically changed by Jesus, in part because their expectations of who they thought He was or who they wanted Him to be were way off.

The vocations represented in the characters of Easter can teach us a lot about God and how our work is a means of co-laboring with our risen King. In this four-day plan, we’ll look at the vocations of Mary, a baker, Barabbas, and Christ himself to draw out applications for our own work today.

A life poured out. We see an example of this in Mary who anointed Jesus (John 12:1-8). In these next 5 days, let us do as Mary did and smash the alabaster jar, so we may be overcome by the fragrance of Jesus.

I  went out for a run one morning when it was dark and very cloudy, but the moon kept breaking through—so beautiful and peaceful. I felt so close to our Saviour, Jesus Christ. While running, I was reflecting on this season of Easter and the Holy Spirit impressed upon me the following in this 5-day plan leading up to Easter.
