Solomon the son of David established himself securely over his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him and made him exceedingly great. Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the commanders of thousands and of hundreds and to the judges and to every leader in all Israel, the heads of the fathers’ (ancestors’) households. Then Solomon and all the assembly went to the high place at Gibeon [to offer sacrifices, where the Canaanites had habitually worshiped], for God’s Tent of Meeting was there, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness. But David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim to the place he had prepared for it, because he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem. Now the bronze altar, which Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made was there before the tabernacle of the LORD, and Solomon and the assembly sought it out. And Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the LORD at the Tent of Meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.

Everyone wants to know how to talk to God and get answers to their prayers. Yet most people are skeptical of prayer, or convinced they’re doing it wrong. In this 5-day devotional, Kyle DiRoberts shows you how God is more concerned about the condition of our hearts than the words we use, and how the right posture of our hearts should be humility.

In our rapidly changing and powerfully challenging world, we need wisdom for living. Our society pulls and pushes us in different directions, and in this turmoil we need a mental compass to guide us in the right way. We need wisdom for right living. This seven-day plan, based mainly on Proverbs, explores this subject as presented by Solomon.
As a leader, where do you turn for wisdom? In this devotional series, we will be studying passages about King Solomon. We will see that wisdom starts with worship and requires humility, trust, and curiosity. Wisdom that comes from God will be a blessing to those we lead and will bring glory to our Father in heaven.
