1 Kings 5:2-4

Then Solomon sent word to Hiram, saying, “You know that David my father could not build a house (temple) for the Name (Presence) of the LORD his God because of the wars which surrounded him, until the LORD put his enemies under his feet. [2 Sam 7:4ff; 1 Chr 22:8] But now that the LORD my God has given me rest [from war] on every side, there is neither adversary nor misfortune [confronting me].
