Hebrews 7:11

Did you know there are actually 3 distinct approaches to tithing in the Bible. And as new covenant believers, according to the Bible I believe we should be avoiding two of them. In this short plan we explore these 3 different types of tithing and how we as Christians should be giving and tithing in the most God-honoring way.

We start off Part Four of our Hebrews series with the third warning: Be careful not to fall away from Jesus. When we lose sight of Jesus and our relationship with Him, we can no longer access the greater life He gives and all that it brings. Jesus is the better Priest that gives us the better covenant. Without Him, we cannot live, walk and have access to God’s promises. 

We deeply want to love God, but we often find ourselves striving in our efforts to please Him, acutely aware of our weaknesses. St. Thérèse of Lisieux faced similar struggles. “It’s better this way”… “You’ll be better off”… We’ve all heard these words of encouragement from people who love us, but we don’t always believe them to be true. As we explore the richness of Scripture, the author of Hebrews will remind us that Jesus not only exercises the Authority over our lives as King, but as our High Priest, He becomes the fulfillment of a better hope for Humanity.
