Vayikra (Lev) 23:15-16

Shavuot celebrates God giving the Torah to Israel and later fulfilling His promise by sending the Holy Spirit to believers through Jesus (Yeshua) at Pentecost. For Christians, a Shavuot Bible reading plan reveals the deep connection between the Old and New Testaments, highlighting God’s covenant, the Spirit’s power, and the call to live set apart for Him. This plan offers a chance to grow spiritually and connect with God’s redemption story and plan through Yeshua (Jesus).

For millennia, God’s people have been carrying out a weekly Bible study plan. Every year, they read through the Torah from Genesis to Deuteronomy. In synagogue each week, they read and study a Bible passage—the weekly parshah. This parshah is called “Emor,” which is Hebrew for “Speak,” and covers Leviticus 21:1–24:23.
