For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day. There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. Let’s therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart. There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. Having then a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Yeshua, the Son of God, let’s hold tightly to our confession.

The gospel is the power of God for salvation. It is not just a door into eternal life but the path we live our everyday life. The gospel changes how we think, speak, act and decide. The gospel frees us to worship God and gives us a sense of mission. This Bible plan along with a devotional reading helps us understand how the gospel shapes our life.
Manhattan pastor Jon Tyson says, “All great revivals have taken place in times of decline. Resurrection is found among the dead. I want to call you to resist compromise when your friends tell you your faith is too intense, your devotion unnecessary, your life together too much.” In this devotional Tyson contrasts five things that make for brokenness with five things that make for beauty.

Yes, all these types of self-care are great, but do you continue to find yourself struggling with stress, anxiety, anger, insecurity, or self-doubt? Maybe there’s some deeper spiritual care needed. This Soul Care series will explore how to take care of your soul ... the most important part of you.
