The Heavenly Worship
1After this I looked. And behold, there was an open door in heaven. The first voice I heard was like a trumpet # Rev 1:10 speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, # Rev 11:12 and I will show you things which must take place after this.” # Rev 1:19 2Immediately I was in the Spirit. # Rev 1:10 And behold, there was a throne set in heaven with One sitting on the throne! # Isa 6:1; Eze 1:26 3And He who sat there appeared like a jasper and a sardius stone. # Eze 28:13 There was a rainbow around the throne, # Eze 1:28; Rev 10:1 appearing like an emerald. 4Twenty-four thrones were around the throne. And I saw twenty-four elders sitting on the thrones, # Rev 4:10; 11:16 clothed in white garments. They had crowns of gold on their heads. 5Lightnings and thunderings and voices proceeded from the throne. # Rev 8:5 Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, # Zec 4:2 which are the seven Spirits of God. # Rev 1:4 6Before the throne was a sea of glass like crystal. # Rev 15:2
In the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures covered with eyes in front and in back. # Rev 5:6 7The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. # Eze 1:10; 10:14 8The four living creatures had six wings each, and they were covered with eyes all around. # Isa 6:2; Rev 4:6 All day and night, without ceasing, they were saying:
“ ‘Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty,’ # Isa 6:8 # 4:8 Isa 6:3.
who was, and is, and is to come.” # Rev 1:8
9When the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, # Rev 1:18; 15:7 10the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and worship Him, who lives forever and ever. # Rev 5:8, 14 Then they cast their crowns before the throne, # Rev 4:4 saying,
11“You are worthy, O Lord,
to receive glory and honor and power; # Rev 5:12
for You have created all things,
and by Your will they exist
and were created.” # Rev 10:6
