Promises! Who doesn't want certainty? We CAN depend on God! It has been said there are around 1600 promises in the Old and New Testaments. The following verses can help you draw near to the Lord and rest. God's word has promises you want in your heart regarding dating, anger, hope, money, trust, suffering, and even sex. Stop relying on empty promises people make. Lean on God's promises.

Although Jesus told us in this world we would find trouble, He also offered us ways to overcome in overwhelming times. He taught His followers what I like to call 5 Steps for Overcomers—look within, look to Him, look ahead, look out, and look up. Looking in each of these directions will help us to overcome our everyday challenges, and help us to encourage others to do the same.

Advent is a season of waiting, remembering, and rejoicing. We wait for Christ’s return, celebrating His first coming even as we wait and long for His return. We remember the brokenness of our world and how He will bring restoration and wholeness when He comes. And we praise Him, remembering the joy we have as we place our hope in Christ.
