1 Thessalonians 5:5-6

Rescue gives men the start they need to find new spiritual life through the relationships God has waiting for them. Scripture is clear: we’re meant to be together, to do life together, to care for one another, to be united with God and with others. When we are united, then we are safe, strong, free—rescued for good.

During Advent, not only do we anticipate an event that has already taken place – Jesus’s first coming – but we also look forward to and anticipate his second coming! In this plan, designed to be used during any of the days of the Advent season, we will reflect on 1 Thessalonians as we prepare our hearts to celebrate Christmas.

The Church of Jesus Christ is the institution that God has chosen to fulfill His plan on earth. This is the third part of the 3-part series devotion on the Bible-revealed Greatness of God and His Plan. While the first part focus on certain aspects of the Greatness of God, the second part on the Greatness of Jesus, this last part focuses on the call of the Church of Jesus. The same way winning a marathon requires a high level of physical fitness, we must be spiritually fit in order to run well the life God has set before us.
