Luke 1:22, 62-63

When Zechariah came outside, he could not speak to them, and they knew he had seen a vision in the Temple. He could only make signs to them and remained unable to speak.

Then they made signs to his father to find out what he would like to name him. Zechariah asked for a writing tablet and wrote, “His name is John,” and everyone was surprised.
