Psalms 35:28

This devotional will help us understand the importance of having a life in Christ that will help and guide our lives.

We live in a world of noise — literal noise in our modern cities and suburbs, and cultural noise in the daily digital bombardment of outrage and drama. As a result, our central nervous systems and our souls are paying a steep price. This reading plan for Into the Quiet by John Mark Comer invites readers to step out of the chronic noise and constant motion of the modern world into the still, silent presence of the God of peace.

Just like the disciples who followed Jesus during his time on earth, we look to our Savior for wisdom and direction. As the disciples saw first-hand and we read in the Bible, Jesus gained strength when he spent time with the Father. So, we ask him, “Jesus, teach us to pray.” This reading plan from author Bobby Schuller shows you how to follow Jesus’ lead in “Praying the Psalms.”

Reading and praying the Psalms is a humble pilgrimage. The various authors, including King David, share their innermost thoughts and struggles in their relationships with others and the One True God. They doubt. They ask questions. They marvel. They believe. Don’t we do the same? Ancient writings? Yes. But relevant for each of us today. Each day’s study includes an option to pray through that day’s Psalm with grace-filled intentionality.
