Psalms 32:1

Do your ever feel overwhelmed by shame? Perhaps you failed and made a huge mistake. Maybe you did something which hurt someone you love dearly. In the Psalms, we find a deep resource to navigate our shame and even overcome it! In this 3-day reading plan, Scott Savage shares how the Psalms equipped him to overcome shame.

Everyone has a past they cannot change, a present they must live and a future they cannot yet see. Psalm 32 shows us God’s heart for each of these areas. Through David’s testimony, we discover that God offers forgiveness for our past, guidance for our future and his presence for today. May you be encouraged to leave yesterday behind, trust God with tomorrow and walk closely with him in the present.

Do you ever feel trapped by your mistakes? We can become so used to stuffing guilt and hiding shame that our mistakes soon define us. When you feel like you can’t outrun your past, you need to know there’s a God who understands and longs to release you from your personal prison. In this plan, you will learn how to escape guilt and find freedom from shame.

If you’ve ever watched the TV show Hoarders, you know the mess doesn’t happen overnight. It starts small—an overstuffed closet, a junked-up room—until eventually the whole house is overrun. Our souls can look the same way. Call it spiritual hoarding: hidden sins, buried memories, unresolved shame.
