“I am the Bread of Life,” Jesus told them. “The one who comes to me will never be hungry, and the one who believes in me will never be thirsty.

The Spirit is the one who gives life. The flesh does not help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

Do not continue to work for the food that spoils, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

For this is the will of my Father: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life. And I will raise him up on the Last Day.”

Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God: that you believe in the one he sent.”

Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never cast out.

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom will we go? You have the words of eternal life.

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats this bread, he will live forever. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the Last Day.

For the bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

Then Jesus took the loaves and, after giving thanks, he distributed pieces to those who were seated. He also did the same with the fish—as much as they wanted. When the people were full, he told his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over so that nothing is wasted.”

After they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea toward their boat, and they were afraid. But he said to them, “It is I. Do not be afraid!”
