Elisha succeeded Elijah as the representative of God’s voice, but there was way too little to be done when people’s hearts remained hardened. Despite few reforms under the reign of King Jehu, Hezekiah and Josiah, the northern and southern kingdoms finally perished in 722 and 587 BCE respectively.

As David’s reign comes to an end, it’s time to set up a house for the reign of King Solomon, but Solomon had promised he would also fulfill David’s promise to build a house for God. If He moved in power then and there, He will move in power here and now, because Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever!
