“Behold, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves, so be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves.

Whoever finds his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul, but rather fear him who can destroy both the soul and the body in hell.

And whoever does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

“Therefore everyone who acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.

Heal the sick, cleanse lepers, and cast out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
