Matthew 7:2
Matthew 7:1-5 The Message (MSG)
“Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor.
Matthew 7:2 King James Version (KJV)
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Matthew 7:2 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.
Matthew 7:2 New Century Version (NCV)
You will be judged in the same way that you judge others, and the amount you give to others will be given to you.
Matthew 7:2 American Standard Version (ASV)
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you.
Matthew 7:2 New International Version (NIV)
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Matthew 7:2 New King James Version (NKJV)
For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
Matthew 7:2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
For just as you [hypocritically] judge others [when you are sinful and unrepentant], so will you be judged; and in accordance with your standard of measure [used to pass out judgment], judgment will be measured to you.
Matthew 7:2 New Living Translation (NLT)
For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.
